Disney Fun Day

JULY 2006

GAP girls organized an incredible fun day, amazingly transforming a school into a Disney wonderland. It featured a jungle book bouncy castle, Dalmatian ball pond, Mr Incredible test your strength, Pinocchio ring toss, Nemo hook a duck, clay café, Cinderella beauty salon and many others!! Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Goofy all made guest appearances. You were able to take your photo with your favourite Disney character. A hot dog, popcorn and candy floss stand topped it off. Over 1200 pounds was raised for a children's home in Afula, Israel.

Strictly Dance Fever

MARCH 2006

GAP girls managed to sign up 14 groups of girls from various local high schools to choreograph their own dances. All the groups performed in front of a crowd of over 250!! Prizes included tickets to Israel, ipods, and kai feng. The function not only raised £1000 for Alyn but increased public awareness of the situation of children who aren't able to carry out the simple everyday activities that we tend to take for granted. A fundraising video about the groundbreaking work carried out at Alyn Hospital in Israel inspired the girls to do something to help this institution which treats physically handicapped children and adolescents.

Purim Shop

MARCH 2006

After hearing about the extensive and essential work that Chai Cancer Care carries out, the girls decided to open up a Purim Shop. The sold children costumes for all age 0- 10 and rented out a terrific range of adult costumes. GAP girls also created a selection of themed Mishloach manot. They included sushi, Chinese, coffee, cinema and kids themes. The Purim shop had three sales where virtually all their merchandise was sold out, raising over £1200!!
